Volunteers Needed!
Who: Folks with a servant’s heart. Extra need for folks who know anything about bicycle repairs, even if you just know how to fix a flat!
When: Saturday, May 21, 2011, 9am-1pm.
What: Inner City Health Center’s 13th Annual Kid’s Fair hosted by 3t Ministry. Last year, we turned over 500 bicycles, helmets & locks, and it gets bigger every year. Some of the bicycles that are donated are ready to go, some need minor repairs and/or adjustments, and some are not worth fixing but we use them for parts bikes. There are other events going on, many that need volunteers: a bicycle obstacle course, live gospel music, the police and fire departments, snow-cones and cotton candy, health oriented booths; but the bicycle repair and give-away is the biggest draw.
We provide YOU volunteers with food and drinks, bicycles, parts, supplies and compressed air. If you can, please bring a repair stand and basic tools. If not, we have some extra repair stands and several of us can share tools. And there are lots of other non-bike repair oriented volunteer opportunities!
Where: We hit a different school each year, this year at Wyatt Edison, 36th & Franklin.
