3t Ministry was founded on November 2010 to provide tools for individuals to live a healthier life.
We are a Christ centered, Family focused, mainly run by volunteers organization who promotes wellness for people in need by making available to them Bicycles and Winter Coats.
3t Ministry conducts drives at local schools, Churches and businesses to support its two programs. We accept donations of new and used coats and Bicycles.
Our goal is to double our current operating budget in the next 2 years while maintaining a less than 20% administrative expense.
During the fall months we collect coats for our coat program. Any used coat is washed before it is distributed to the public. We distribute the new and used coats to communities in need. Our Coat Program aims to provide warmth during the winter season. We have helped communities such as Alamosa, Colorado and Pine Ridge, South Dakota. Over the last 3 years we have given away over 2500 coats.
Our Bicycle program runs year round. We collect bikes from individuals, corporations or organizations. Individual help has come from contact with Schools and Churches. A Huge support has come from the residents of Highlands Ranch, Colorado. Highlands Ranch Schools and Churches have actively supported our Bike program. Corporations encourage their employees, tenants or vendors to participate by donating a new or use bike to our program. We’ve had corporations such as American Family Insurance, Walmart, First commercial Bank of Colorado and Transwestern management support our program. Every used bike is inspected and repaired as needed before we give them away. Over the last 4 years we have given away over 1600 bikes.
Although we are a family focused ministry, we pay special attention to the children. According to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment over 25% of children were overweight or obese in 2008. They also state that our State obesity rate grew faster than the country’s. We have been part of the supporting efforts to increase exercise and reduce obesity. We have collaborated with Inner City Health Center over the last 3 years to service the children in Denver. We helped pick an inner city elementary school and during one Saturday morning in May we distributed bikes, helmets and locks to the children in the area. This year, 3t Ministry is proud to be running this event on behalf of Inner City Health Center.
Additionally, we are in the planning stages of organizing our “Bike Rides” through the Colorado bike trails. Our goal is to have 3 rides during the warm weather months of 2012. Children of all ages will be invited to participate in the “Bike Rides” at no cost to them. One more way we can help fight the battle on obesity.
