Karol Seydel, born July 16, 1972, grew up on her family farm in Clinton, Missouri. Growing up on the farm provided her with strong family values, hard work ethic, but most importantly, a love for the Catholic faith. She attended Holy Rosary Catholic School from 1st through 8th grade. She started volunteering at church at an early age by helping her mother and the ladies of the Altar Society clean the church. By the 7th grade she was playing the organ at the school’s Friday Masses and starting playing for the weekend parish Masses in the 8th grade. Karol and her mother always worked the Holy Rosary Annual Turkey Dinner, the church’s major fundraiser for the school. Karol remains active in her parish, St. Mark of Highlands Ranch. She has been the servant leader for the Greeter ministry, and is currently an usher, Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, teaches Faith Formation with her husband, Robert, and is on a Youth Liturgy Committee. She has also been a part of a retreat team for Christ Renews His Parish at St. Mark, and an ACTS retreat in San Antonio, Texas.
Karol is a pharmacist with Welldyne, a Pharmacy Benefits Manager, working as the manager of their US Specialty Care Pharmacy. She obtained her Doctorate of Pharmacy degree from the University of Texas College of Pharmacy in Austin in 2005, graduating with high honors. While in pharmacy school she was also a member of the Rho Chi Honor Society and served both offices of Vice President and President of the student chapter of the National Community Pharmacy Association (NCPA). Karol also was the recipient of the NCPA Outstanding Student Member Award.
Karol, Robert, daughter Sierra and son Blake, moved to Highlands Ranch Colorado from San Antonio, Texas in 2007. Both children are also involved in ministries at St. Mark. Blake is an altar server and Sierra is a peer minister for the young group, a member of the choir, and an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion. Karol and Robert believe in children being involved in church ministries at a young age to lay a foundation of faith and service. As a family they have volunteered at Knights of Columbus Fish Fry’s, and serving Thanksgiving dinners to the elderly at Prince of Peace in San Antonio, Texas. At St Mark, they have participated in vegetable gleaning for COMPA food bank of Denver, and the inner city Bike Drives. They also enjoy camping during the summer in the beautiful state of Colorado.
